SoundCopy is a free audio recorder and converter that can capture, save, and re-encode any sound coming in through your soundcard (CD, Internet streaming, external microphone, etc.). Any recording made through this tool is by default saved in WAV format, thus offering you the maximum audio quality. However, there is also the possibility of opening any of your recordings (or any other WAV file sitting in your system, for that matter) and re-encode it into MP3 using its built-in Lame engine. This will let you use this tool also as a stand-alone MP3 converter, but note that not all WAV files will convert successfully. Besides, you will not be able to decide the quality of the compressed audio file, as the bit rate of the resulting MP3 is internally set by SoundCopy.
This tool comes in a small and compact interface with barely the controls you need to record, save, and convert your audio files. As an interesting add-on, SoundCopy offers you the possibility of scheduling your recordings. This AutoRecording feature allows you to set up the starting time and the duration of the recording, allowing you to leave your computer unattended for as long as 10 hours.
Its simplicity of use makes it suitable for all kinds of users who need to save any audio coming into their computers without any hassle and without complicated settings and options.
